Snake Pass was on the news on Spanish TV a few days ago! I had the TV on and was doing something or other when I looked and saw the unmistakable 'Snake Pass Closed' sign In a very snowy image! I listened in too late too get the story so I still don't know why it was on the news in Spain!!!!
Is the Cat and Fiddle still closed?

Amazed that it made the TV news there. They seem to close the roads very quickly for road safety reasons after quite small amounts of snow. Its much more to do with there being too many drivers who are not driving to the conditions than the road being blocked with snow. Its abandoned vehicles and the most recent case Van hits truck on the summit and two cars off the road avoiding the incident. There ARE some days with too much snow to proceed and they are obvious but they get the roads open again fairly quickly and of course that is rarely mentioned as news ! yes the Cat and Fiddle was open again a day before the Snake.
