Die Geschichte des Erfurter Rathauses beginnt im 11. Jahrhundert. Das neugotische Gebäude wurde in den 1870er Jahren errichtet. Die Statuen links und rechts des Balkons über dem Haupteingang sind Bonifatius und Martin Luther. Auf dem Platz, dem Fischmarkt, steht auf der Säule der Römer.
