Laurisilva
Die Laurisilva ist eine Lorbeerart, die einst im mitteleuropäischen Raum weit verbreitet war. Die letzten Eiszeiten hat sie dort aber nicht überlebt. Heute gibt es sie nur noch in Makaronesien, also auf den Azoren, Madeira und den Kanaren. Hier auf Madeira und auf La Gomera gehören sie zum UNSECO-Naturwelterbe.
