Fence Knob

Fence Knob
This was taken with my old Nikon, which I never really mastered (which is why I switched to the Panasonic Lumix GF1 & GH3 whose OS is more intuitive for a technodope like me.

, have particularly liked this photo

It gave you some good bokeh, though. And I hate to admit how much of the time I use my Nikons as point-and-shoot cameras....

I really like the difference in angle between the roof and the fence, and the contrast between the dark top and light bottom. They add depth to all the soft focus.

Thank you -- I feel I am in better control now, for instance, would hopefully done a better job at capturing the spiderweb that is mostly hidden in this shot.

what a wonderful knob.... I bet your Nikon just needs a teenager... once you get the hang of it you will never go back.

Thanks S.Y. ;-) The Nikon was a work camera, then I got a Panasonic Lumix GF1 for home. It was just too hard switching back and forth between two systems. And I kept getting better results with the GF1 (and now the GH3) so I'm a happy Lumix convert, even if it doesn't have the cache of the Nikon brand. I think everyone just has to find the camera that works best for them -- I've had Sony's, Canons, Nikons, and some of my friends are die-hard Olympus fans. For me as a photographer who has no time for photography, it's best to keep it simple ....
