This is about the first view of Abraham Lake travelling east from the Banff Park gates on the David Thompson Highway - Alberta.
Abraham Lake is the reservoir behind the Bighorn Dam on the North Saskatchewan River. Glacial silt gives it its remarkable colour. [35mm film - lots of noise and a low resolution scan]

This is one of my photos that appears overly "hot" colour-wise on my work version of IE10. The sky should be a little darker blue than the blue sky top-right in the Lower Waterfowl Lake photo not turquoise. The water is blue-turquoise but again on the dark side.
