1692 memorial to father hyacinth, priest to the dowager queen catherine of braganza, who ran a strictly catholic court here in opposition to the protestant court at whitehall of william and mary until 1694, when she removed to portugal to act as regent. deep in the cellars underneath the courtyard is a group of interesting c17 memorials removed from the catholic chapel of the original palace here. these are not mentioned in pevsner.

this tiny memorial is set into the east wall near the floor behind the altar, and is to martha, wife of the vicar robert horner, who came here in 1625 and was replaced c.1647 just after the civil war.
