So I figured, though I looked for r. mutt's signature just in case......yes, at least the first I've seen....changed a bit since my youth, london, though at least bombsites were unisex......

Did you play on the bombsites when you were a kid? I recently re-watched "7 Up," which I hadn't watched in years, and was intrigued by the "Adventure Playground" that they took the kiddies to. It looked like a bomb site -- the kids were playing with planks of scrap lumber and jumping off metal beams. I don't think H & S would approve of that sort of thing today.

half of london was a bombsite still well into the early 60s, with the entire area around st.paul's a maze of cellars and rose bay willow herb, a good many of wren's churches were roofless ruins and we'd climb the burnt out towers, totally ignoring uxb signs. mind you , even more of the city got lost to post-war planners and greed, which continues to muck the place about. I wouldn't mind if what was built was better, but it's normally just cheaper, though perhaps that's understandable when england no longer has an empire to suck on. on the bright side, attitudes to almost everything have improved immeasurably, which is far more important.
