1697 lyre ended bale tomb in churchyard, with one of 1685 beyond. the stone used on many of these tombs in this area has spalled badly, so it is good to see that these have received exemplary restoration and a coat of limewash recently; all too often gravestones and other external memorials get forgotten or worse.
