christ the king, gordon square, london

christ the king, gordon square, london
these three arches are all that was built of the planned proud west front of the church built by brandon in 1853 for the catholic apostolic church. its apostles died, christ didn't re-appear, and the flock dwindled to a handful, leaving them the rather secretive owners of a lot of property and more churches than they can ever hope to fill again, barring the second coming of christ with irving by his side, along with two sets of apostles, one lot galilean, the other victorian. they have sold some churches, and rent others out, like this one, which is used by the university of london chaplaincy. their church at albury in surrey remains forever locked, awaiting the end; their pearson church in maida vale is still in use by the apostles descendants, they do not welcome visitors or questions, and photography inside is not allowed.
