I have to agree with you over the use and misuse of the apostrophe. It drives me crazy, especially when it's misused on official documents. Miss Sturrock would be turning in her grave. LOL

I think she would have been seriously shocked by the throwaway Grocers' apostrophes which seem to be ubiquitous.

I am shocked too, when I see a word that has been pluralized by adding an apostrophe and an 's'. As I am sure you know, apostrophes are used to show possession or to replace missing letters.
