Antony Gormley Statue, Leith Docks, Edinburgh

Antony Gormley Statue, Leith Docks, Edinburgh
Work is now complete to reinstall Turner Prize-winning artist Antony Gormley’s (b. 1950) 6 TIMES along the Water of Leith in Edinburgh.... The final figure, situated at the end of an abandoned pier in Leith Docks, looks out to the point where the river course finally meets the sea. Quoted from the Water of Leith Conservation Trust website

Billathon, Jörg, Marco F. Delminho, John FitzGerald and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

I love this shot Joe! A wonderful perspective, showing every grain and nail in the old wood. The seagulls enhance it beautifully, taking our eyes to the statue, which I like very much. I am a fan of Antony Gormley's work. Have a good weekend. Rosa.

Oustanding image, Joe: the wooden structure of the abandoned pier, perceived in every remarkable detail, leads the eye deeply in the depth towards the statue that seems to be observing the beautiful ship in its bright red hues.Cheers, Bea

I must look out for this next time we are up in Scotland. I have seen Anthony Gormley sculptures in Stavanger Norway and also at Formby near Liverpool.

I saw one just outside the National Gallery. It was up to its chest in tarmac. ;-)

Very intesting construction and a place for seagulls to enjoy the life.
