Nobody would be sitting at the picnic table that day and probably not many have sat at it in the last year. A pity as it's a lovely river view.

I have been sitting at the picnic tables quite a lot recently, Jean, to drink my takeaway coffee. I look forward to the reopening of the Coffee Shop, so I can sit inside again. Thanks for your very kind comment. All the best, Joe

The striking light blue hue gives a beautiful visual image, but flooding can be devastating. It sounds like this area coped well, and then came the rest of 2020! I hope you are soon able to visit the coffee shops Joe. The day they open again I will be there with my friend Georgina. We will have so much catching up to do and I expect more than one coffee will be drunk ;-)

One year ago today:

Today marks a year since the WHO, World Health Organization, declared Covid19 a pandemic. Since than there have been over 116 million cases and 2.5 million deaths across the globe. Some good news is 150 million vaccine doses have been given. There may be light at the end of the tunnel.

This morning, at the end of our daily walk, we were so happy to see that our local cafe in the village, Cafe XI, was open to serve takeaway drinks, fresh bread and milk and a limited number of other groceries. This is the first time in almost 3 months, and we thoroughly enjoyed our cappuccino while sitting outside on our patio enjoying some spring sunshine between the showers.

When cafes are finally open properly, we are also looking forward to sitting outside chatting to friends over a nice cup of coffee, Joe. We rarely sit inside as wearing two hearing aids means that I pick up excess noise and cannot follow conversations. ;-))

Our local coffee shops are open for takeaway only, but the restrictions on how many people from how many households you are allowed to meet prevent me from getting together with my pals for coffee. Hopefully this will change soon.
