Joe...I wanted to send you a big, huge hug...you left me such a lovely, wonderful comment about my sand dune picture that I had to read it to my husband. One of the nicest things anyone has ever said about one of my images and I was extremely touched and overjoyed that something I photographed moved you writesuch a detailed description of why you loved it so much! *BIG HUGS* You totally made my day, week, month, and every time I look at that picture, memories of what you said make me smile so brightly it fills the room! :) You know, pictures like that are the best because they are a surprise that you didn't expect. That day the wind was just BLASTING and I was concerned about sand getting in my lens and camera. When we drove the car around from the grocery store and I popped out, I was instantly annoyed because the once-pristine dune was--at that moment--being walked all over upon by a pair of women and I was feeling extremely outraged inside because of the timing. Turns out one was taking a picture of the other who was destroying the perfect sand--I was screaming bloody murder inside because I'd initially thought my pictures were ruined. But it turned out very differently. The one walking on the dunes dropped down after her friend took pictures, Steve had a very nice conversation about their "sand surfing" adventure, and I discovered there were lots of great pictures to take after all! In the end, I posted one picture showing the lady's foot prints, and I got a slew of marvelous pictures, including the main one, which amazed me...I was hoping for a nice outcome but didn't think it would turn out well enough to tick my box for "Super Sand Dune Picture". Now I look at that series of pictures and I think about how lucky I was--and that even if it seems like someone might be ruining your photo opportunity, they might just be creating a cool picture for you AND they might be nice to talk to as well! :)
Anyway, thanks so much. You're the best, Joe. I do truly hope that some day, if/when Steve and I get over to your side of the pond, that we can meet during our visit to your gorgeous country! :) It would be such an honor. :)
