Wien / Vienna, Hofburg, Michaelertor
View from the gate Michaelertor onto the plaza Michaelerplatz with the Loos House. The Loos House was built 1910-1912 by Adolf Loos in "Wiener Moderne" style and has housed the Raiffeisenbank Vienna for many years. According to contemporary sources, Emperor Francis Joseph I was very displeased with this "repulsive, unadorned counterpart". No wonder, if you take the playful wrought-iron ornaments of the Michaelertor, for example, as a comparison.
