At first we thought these were tracks left by Patton's tank corps, but later when we found similar tracks closer to some mines we theorized it might be some way of prospecting that we had not seen before.

I don't know what it is, but it looks like there used to be a circular tank that they dumped this in. The tank has since disappeared and this material has solidified.
