Boston from Google Earth

The adjacent historic photos give me a sense of why Boston's streets are so non-linear. With the modern buildings and multiple iterations of redoing, you lose the sense of the streets having been laid out as a steady progression inland (and uphill) from the bay and what was once tidal flats.
