Inside the church. The pulpit on the left had for many decades a large bullet hole in it, where one of the locals had attempted to "correct the attitude" of a newly-arrived minister using a pistol. The minister was quickly reassigned (for his own safety), and the bullet hole was repaired sometime in the past ten years.
The British sailors' cemetery, where British sailors are buried who were killed in a cholera epidemic during the occupation of Fårö during the Crimean War.
Looking out over the Baltic Sea at Dämba. The small island at the horizon was denuded of all vegetation over the past twenty years or so by the arrival of cormorants.
Fishing boats on Gotland are reputed to be living entities, and when they are considered no longer seaworthy, are "retired" by being tied up at the shore and allowed to decompose.
