fascinating how this one is mouth open and the other not. makes one wonder at the significance of that.

The lions are part of a memorial for soldiers fallen in WW1 (built in 1930), though it's easy to overlook when you're there (I did when I took these photos). So I think this one should express something like readiness to fight, the other probably grief.
