(Un)happy Underwater Bench Monday !

Im Gegensatz zu Deutschland, wo man letzte Woche extrem dramatische Bilder gesehen hat, ist Bern dank seiner topologischen Lage und dank den Massnahmen, die man nach dem letzten Hochwasser in 2005 getroffen hat, nur marginal von den Überschwemmungen betroffen worden.

Ja, für viele ein furchtbares Unglück in den betroffenen Orten in Deutschland.
Auch ich in unserer Gegend bin ich froh und dankbar, dass nicht Schlimmeres bei diesem Hochwasser passiert ist.

Heide, ich habe Freunde in Köln, die mir Bilder aus der Region geschickt haben. Alles nur furchtbar! Sie selber wohnen zum Glück in Köln selber und waren zum glück nicht betroffen.

Herb, yes, the floods in Switzerland and especially in Germany were devastating! I have not heard anything from England.

Ulrich, wir waren gewarnt von der letzten Flut in 2005 und haben entsprechende Schutzmassnahmen getroffen. Das hat sich jetzt ausbezahlt.

Xata, yes that's true! But I think much worse things have to happen before there is a reaction also on the political side.
Above all, it is a matter that must be addressed on a global scale. There is already a big problem in this!

Peter, in contrast to the west of Germany, we have been only very marginally affected by the floods. Not least because we took many countermeasures after the last big floods in 2005.
