Not only do I find the wooden trestles to be of interest - I think the whole bridge is fascinating as it constructed with a hotchpotch of styles and materials. The upright piers appear to be made of different types of stone and even the two girder sections are different to each other. I suppose on the other side of the river it is different again? ;-)

The bridge is over 100 years old. I, too, find it fascinating and have many photos of it scattered throughout my album on bridges. But since you have mentioned the other side, I realize I do not have any that show that side very well. Below are the best. The first shows the other side in the distance behind the bridge in the foreground. The second is from the tracks looking directly at the bridge. The third is detail of the metal bridge trusses.

Thank you for the insight to your variegated shots of the bridge. Though I am surprised you have no images of the other side. Probably because you cannot take a camera with you when you go over there on your daily swim?
