Argiope bruennichi (PiP)
Ein Weibchen der Wespenspinne (Argiope bruennichi) wartet in ihrem Netz auf Beute. Am liebsten verspeist sie Heuschrecken, verschmäht aber auch andere Insekten nicht. Sie gehört zur Familie der Radnetzspinnen und wird bis 25 mm groß (das Männchen nur 6 mm). Früher war sie hauptsächlich in Südeuropa anzutreffen hat, ihren Lebensraum mittlerweile auf fast ganz Europa sowie einige asiatische und nordafrikanische Länder ausgedehnt. Auch in unseren Garten ist sie mittlerweile häufig anzutreffen.
