St. Bride's Church- The 'Wedding Cake' Tower

St. Bride's Church- The 'Wedding Cake' Tower
St. Bride's church, known as 'The Cathedral of Fleet Street' was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and opened in 1672. The church was destroyed by fire on December 29th 1940 after a German incendiary bomb penetrated the roof. The tower survived although the bells melted. Post-war restoration culminated in its re-dedication by Queen Elizabeth II on December 19th 1957.
St. Bride's is the church of printing and journalism.
