Highlights included: Red House (William Morris's home in Bexleyheath), a fabulous tour of the Charterhouse, West Norwood Cemetery (the 6th of the Magnificent Seven that I've been to), Crystal Palace Park, a ghostsigns walking tour in Stoke Newington with Sam Roberts, and a ramble around Poplar to find the real "Nonnatus House." Sutton Hospital and the Charterhouse charity, which included an almshouse for men and a school for boys, was founded in 1611 by Thomas Sutton, the richest commoner in the country. Here's the history: www.thecharterhouse.org/history-html
To the Chapel

Our tour guide, Brother Duncan, led us to the chapel. He's a retired school master who has lived in the almshouse for several years. The brothers conduct tours of the buildings and grounds.
