Another mural commemorating the women who participated in the Easter Rising of 1916. The main figure is Countess Constance Markievicz, who took part in the fighting in Dublin. She was captured and sentenced to death, but unlike Connolly and the others, her sentence was commuted on account of her gender. She was elected to the House of Commons in 1918 but, like other members of Sinn Fein, she did not take her seat in the Palace of Westminster. She was also the first woman in the world to hold a cabinet position (Minister for Labour of the Irish Republic, 1919–1922).
