Interesting: the main subject can be cropped and still it works. And a rather not so spectacular landscape becomes dramatic, as soon Marta creates her monochromes from it.
It is very well composed. I like the way the eye is lead by by branch, second tree and horizon.

The main subject is the tree with a broken limb

so it is works by itself :)
But you know what... I just realized that some of my shots repeat the same rule of composition and now I am wondering if it is not just the time to try something new ;)
