El Rocio is an odd town, part spaghetti western, part posers' paradise, and part pilgrimage destination. The Hermitage, Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Rocío, is famous for its feast day parades. Horses are the main mode of transport for the locals who live in the very sandy area working in the marshes of the Doñana National Park. I found it hilarious watching all the city dwellers posing on a weekend break here; the locals are unassuming and friendly.
