An open starcluster is a collection of stars that were astronomically seen born at the same time. Stars are born with quite different masses and each star evolves according to its mass. The properties of the individual stars in a starcluster are used to study the evolution of stars in time. The study of open starclusters is also important for the establisment of the distance scale used in astronomy. Used 50 exposures, each f=360 mm, T=30 sec and ISO 3200

The inner part is overexposed.The PiP shows the inner part Canon 700D attached to 360 mm refractor. Combined ~100 exposures of each T=30 sec (Ttotal = 45 min.) and ISO 3200. Tracked by telescope mount

The Flame nebula is a reflection nebula and is just east of the most eastern belt stars of Orion. The Horsehead nebula is a dark cloud (B 33) in front of the weak nebula IC 434 Combination of 100 exposures with f=360 mm T=45 min ISO 3200

Endlich mal wieder eine klare Nacht. Wollte eigentlich die Oriongegend fotografieren aber da war der Mond im Wege. Der Mond bietet auch tolle Motive

The comet is moving along its orbit between the Sun and Earth with a velocity of 47 km/sec. Its closest approach to the earth will be about 35 miljon kilometers (12 december) This comet was by far not so exciting as Neowise last year. The major challenge was to get at least some exposures of it during this horrible spell of weather

Final (?) picture of this comet. It shows the whole field coverd by the Canon 700D with f=200 mm, f/2,8, ISO 1600 and T=10x30sec. The stars are not pointlike because of the movement of the comet within 5 minutes, lens error and tracking error The PiP shows an improved picture
