Sinar P 8 x 10

I have resisted the 8 x 10 camera thing, mainly because of the expense for the cameras themselves, and the film. I was going to make my own 8 x 10 (and still intend to do so).

Things changed however when I bought a 4 x 5 Sinar F. Wow what a lovely camera. I made lense boards for my eclectic collection of lenses, it was small enough to take with me, and for the field hikes I want to build into my life......and 4 x 5 film was accessible to me.

I loved the Sinar system, and while not wooden, or used in the field I could see it working for me.

At some point I put it out to the universe that I would like a Sinar 8 x 10.

Well sometime after that one came up on NZs version of eBay....with excellent lenses, a Sinar shutter and other accessories..........cost more than my car BUt now its mine.....and while heavy, I love it dearly already...after just one week.

This first weekend just gone.....i loved the 8 x 10 paper negatives. They fitted well into the holders with no trimming needed at all. (Sometimes like in my 5 x 7 Ernmann, 5 x 7 paper does not fit holders without trimming slithers off)

So I am really happy......love the lenses and the learning re the Sinar shutter. Even going to buy some film...........
