Bird Food Thief..!! (+PiP)

Bird Food Thief..!! (+PiP)
This lovely Grey Squirrel is a regular visitor to my garden. This was taken from between the curtains in my living room window. I have a feeding tray attached to the top of a fence.

Check out the PiP for another shot.

Thank you to everyone who has visited my photo-stream lately, and left comments and/or yellow stars. Always appreciated..!!

I hope you all have a splendid weekend.

So cute, but an opportunist. Loving red squirrels as I do, I think of these as rats with bushy tails. ;-)

Keith Burton club has replied to Amelia club
Thanks Amelia. We don't get red squirrels around here, but I have a fondness for the Greys.

I know they're considered to be an invasive species.......and some see them as vermin, but that's not their fault........they're just like the rest of us........doing what they have to do to survive!

Years ago we used to get 10 or so regulars, but the numbers have gone down over the years and now it's just one or two at a time.

Two fine portraits of these squirrels. I think you know that we too have at least two and often three who dig up the lawn under the seed feeder (that they can't get to) to find the dropped seeds from our many gold finches at the moment. Very nice blurred background here too. Well done.

Cheers. Herb

Keith Burton club has replied to Herb Riddle club
Thanks very much Herb.............they're fascinating to watch and quite easy to photograph provided you keep them well fed.

I knew about your own squirrel visitors..........maybe you should put some food down for them in an area away from the bird feeder, so they don't have to dig up the lawn?

I wish I had some goldfinches visiting........we used to get them in flocks years ago, but they're very scarce now!

I love these two shots!! Such sweet wee animals. As you said so rightly, it is not their fault if they are a pest. They are just trying to survive. I do wish we had squirrels over here. I'd love to see one in the flesh!

Keith Burton club has replied to Eunice Perkins club
Glad you like them Eunice..............they're great fun to watch and photograph. We used to have many more that visited, but over the years their numbers have dropped.

patio window . . he jumps into that . . I go up to the window and ask him . .
hey joey . . what do you think you are doing . . I'm sure he laughs :-) and
your picture is a lovely one too :-)

They're great fun to watch and photograph. We only have a couple of regulars now, but like you we used to have whole families..........they had a dray in one of our sycamore trees.

Sadly, their numbers have dropped over the years.

Glad you like the photos beverley and thanks.

A lovely capture of this fine and well-fed Cyril the Squirrel, Keith,
they have become very prolific in urban areas and I think ours has trained as a sprinter, it is that fast,
Hope you are feeling better!

There are red squirrels in some places in the UK, but they're nowhere near as numerous as the greys. Having both species in the same place does not work!!

Glad you like this grey one though Tanja............and thanks.
