So cute, but an opportunist. Loving red squirrels as I do, I think of these as rats with bushy tails. ;-)

Thanks Amelia. We don't get red squirrels around here, but I have a fondness for the Greys.

I know they're considered to be an invasive species.......and some see them as vermin, but that's not their fault........they're just like the rest of us........doing what they have to do to survive!

Years ago we used to get 10 or so regulars, but the numbers have gone down over the years and now it's just one or two at a time.

the two pictures are very nicely separated from the background and somehow have a sweet effect on the viewer

Two fine portraits of these squirrels. I think you know that we too have at least two and often three who dig up the lawn under the seed feeder (that they can't get to) to find the dropped seeds from our many gold finches at the moment. Very nice blurred background here too. Well done.

I knew about your own squirrel visitors..........maybe you should put some food down for them in an area away from the bird feeder, so they don't have to dig up the lawn?

I wish I had some goldfinches visiting........we used to get them in flocks years ago, but they're very scarce now!

I love these two shots!! Such sweet wee animals. As you said so rightly, it is not their fault if they are a pest. They are just trying to survive. I do wish we had squirrels over here. I'd love to see one in the flesh!

They're great fun to watch and photograph. We only have a couple of regulars now, but like you we used to have whole families..........they had a dray in one of our sycamore trees.

Diese Art gibt es bei uns noch nicht....wir haben noch die roten und viele schwarze Eichhörnchen...es schaut Dich an, als wäre es ihm ziemlich egal, dass das Futter den Vögeln gehört :))) Ein tolles Model...tolle Details auch!

There are red squirrels in some places in the UK, but they're nowhere near as numerous as the greys. Having both species in the same place does not work!!
