They are indeed Isabel............it was lovely to be able to watch them, although I had to wait a while as they spent most of the time in amongst the reeds.

Coots must have some of the ugliest chicks in the bird kingdom, and I think that 'bald as a coot' relates to the chicks. Mind you they are comical and you have a couple of lovely photos of them.
