Golden Leaves

Golden Leaves
Taken yesterday afternoon during a "mystery tour" in the South Downs National Park. A lovely sunny day and remarkably warm for the time of year.

Better viewed large, I think.

Jean Paul Capdeville, trester88, Fred Fouarge, Stephan Fey and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

Lovely light and shadows here Keith, and the central "baby" tree with its golden leaves looks wonderful. A great example of how to break the thirds rule.

Glad you like the photo Maggie...........despite my rule breaking :-). I frequently ignore the rules of composition to get something I like!

The compositional "rules" get taken very seriously by some. If I click on the "crop" button in my processing software I get the following choices for a compositional grid overlay:

Rule of Thirds
Diagonal
Triangle
Golden Ration
Golden Spiral

Talk about over-complicating things...........I just go with what I like :-)))

Lovely remnants of autumn and what a beautiful colour the leaves are. The backdrop of older trees is beautiful too, and that little bit of blue sky in the corner gives a super light!

A must to view large, but I normally do anyway. Looks like you had better weather than us Keith. Rain again today but I just got home in time from my walk around Mere....again :-))

Thank you Rosa................I spotted the golden leaves while I was driving slowly past and just had to stop for a photo. Glad you like it too.

The weather was a one-off I think............we're back to grey, cold and miserable today and it's raining as I type! I'm looking forward to your photos from Mere - I remember the Sprout and Flower shop :-)

Beautiful light and lovely gold and green colours to a wonderful woodland scene, Keith
I'm not a tree expert but the golden leaves look vaguely like Hazel,

Thanks Roger...........the golden leaves really stood out and I just had to stop and take a shot. They were definitely beech leaves...........they seem to go on forever!

Great shot Keith. Autumn lives on here despite all the winds we have had. It rained here most of yesterday.

Thanks Herb...........glad you like it. They were beech leaves, which always seem to hang on forever.

I think the seasons are all muddled up at the moment. Sometimes we seem to get all of them in one day!

Gorgeous picture here Keith. I love the colouring in the woods here. Many years ago I used to live on the North Downs and was surrounded by woodlands - beautiful.

Thanks very much Jenny. I'm not the best at photographing in woodland as I struggle sometimes to find a decent composition. I was lucky on this day though as the golden leaves stood out perfectly.

A beautiful scene! I love the green moss on the tree trunks too.

Our Autumn leaves have not yet appeared. I think we are having better weather now than we had in our pitiful summer.

Thanks very much Eunice..........glad you like it.

Glad to hear you're getting better weather..........regardless of the season. Our seasons are very muddled up at the moment..........as I've just said to Herb, sometimes we get all of them in one day!
