Painted Tree

Painted Tree
Whilst walking through the wooded area alongside Southwick Park Lake, a short drive from my house, I spotted this paint on one of the trees. It's obviously been there for some time and I have no idea why, but I thought it might make a nice abstract image. Hope you agree!

I wonder what's going to come out of/go into the black hole near the centre - or have I read too much sci-fi?

I like It!! Maybe someone cleaned their paint brushes there. They would never have suspected that a Photographer would one day come along and make something so attractive out of it!! Nor that his painting would be seen halfway around the world!!

L'idée est trés intéréssante et pourrait être trés inspirante pour un peintre qui travaille sur la matière. Amitié. Jean paul

Looks a little like a map of the top of the Kintyre peninsular which is nice
BUT paint a tree, perhaps not so nice.

Ha, ha...........thanks Colin. The estate this was on once belonged to the Royal Navy (a training establishment). I suspect the paint may have been put there then, but no idea why!

Vielleicht ist es die Markierung für den rot-gelben Weg? Ich hoffe nicht, dass der Baum zum Fällen markiert wurde. Wie auch immer, ist die Markierung sehr fotogen.

That's unlikely as the trail is a simple circular route around the lake. I don't think it was marked for felling either as it's still there and seems in good health. I guess we'll never know Wilhelm.

I'm pleased you like the shot though and took the trouble to leave comments.
