Spanish Bluebell

Spanish Bluebell
Spanish Bluebells are regarded as an invasive species in the UK. I have several clumps of them in my lawn which we didn't plant. There numbers seem to increase each year. I'm loath to cut them down because they're so pretty!

trester88, Annemarie, Berny, Aschi "Freestone" and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

I dig up any Spanish bluebells in our garden, Keith. We have woodland about half a mile away, and I don't want our English bluebells 'contaminated'.

Good idea Amelia. We're surrounded by concrete and houses, so I think we'll get away with keeping them :-))

I have some to one side of my garden Keith, and I know how you feel. I contain them to that small area.....but I gotta say, that's a beautiful picture! I love the colours and detail and great framing.

We keep digging them out of the lawn, but you only have to miss a tiny bit.......and their back!

The photo is lovely, invasive or ot! We'd be glad to have any bluebell as none of them are native in Germany:-)

*snigger*

I saw a spoof newspaper headline last week which read along the lines of "The year is 3219 and most planets and species are now members of the Intergalactic Federation. The UK is still trying to leave Europe"
