Kicking up snow

Kicking up snow
In the post-storm sun today these fellows dropped by for a couple of

minutes and then went on.

I've had some friends disagreeing on whether they are pine siskins vs

song sparrows vs northern waterthrushes vs female purple finches. I'm

arguing for the pine siskin. But what do I know?

Thanks for the corroboration, Sylvain. We have a lot of them this winter. The past few days (first half of March) we've been getting a little flock of about twenty of them through most of the day at the feeder. Sometimes a pair of goldfinches travel with them, but more often they are just les tarins des pins.
