Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral
This is one of the finest Gothic buildings in Europe. The west front incorporates the first part of the surviving Romanesque cathedral from 1072.
LINCOLN is an historic city, with many reminders of the past, with this grand Norman Cathedral dominating the landscape from the top of the hill, many small Medieval streets, and the remains of Roman occupation still on view. The Romans called it 'Lindum Colonia' and built the Fosse Dyke as a canal between the rivers Trent and Witham about year 120 AD.
Most of it dates from the 13th century, where it was rebuilt in the gothic style by St Hugh Bishop.

Marco F. Delminho, Ulrich John, , and 20 other people have particularly liked this photo

Magnificent! Absolutely spot-on exposure - you've captured the light, colours and detail perfectly. I love that you've left the person in at the far end for scale as well. Great work.
