When we arrived in Port Huron this afternoon, Thunder Bay was on the river but taking her photo wasn't really an option. Similarly the tug Defiance and her consort Astabula wandered by as we were unpacking; again getting a photo was unrealistic, though technically possible.
So here's the barge Great Lakes being pushed by the tug Michigan, just as it was getting too dark for photographs.
Port Huron, Michigan.
Paper mill with GT(!) locomotive on the left, a family in the middle, and the Ken Boothe Sr/Lakes Contender tug/barge on the St Clair River. Not to mention a bit of the big bridge.
And Lake Huron hiding out there in the fog.
Another ship, heading north to Lake Huron.
I really wasn't equipped for night shooting this weekend (Nikon 1 V2, no tripod), but had to try. Thanks to Leona Schuyler for the heads-up.
A new lens, and great light--how could I not head out and take some pix? This one's unprocessed except I've cropped things slightly.
I've shown you this house before .
