"La Plaine des Sables" (974, Ile de la Réunion)

La Plaine des Sables est une étendue plane située entre 2250 et 2350 m
d’altitude, essentiellement recouverte de lappili scoriacés issus des
éruptions récentes du Piton Chisny et du Piton Haüy. Ces lappili (taille
moyenne de 0,5 cm) sont à l’origine de l’emploi du terme “sable” pour
définir le lieu. En fait rien à voir avec du "vrai" sable!!!!
Au fond, légèrement à droite, le Piton de la Fournaise.

È un viaggio "turistico" ma soprattutto è un viaggio per visitare una delle nostre figlie che vive lì e suo marito e il loro bambino, il nostro adorato nipotino!!!!!
Non abbiamo avuto il coraggio di andare nelle viscere del vulcano - forse un'altra volta !!!!!
