Black Crockery
In Bisalhães and Molelos the black crockery is a traditional pottery technique in which the pieces produced have a characteristic black color. This technique is characteristic of the village of Bisalhães, Villa Real and Tondela district of Viseu in Portugal In 2016 they were declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, being included in the heritage list that requires urgent safeguard measures.
The oldest record of a potter in activity in Bisalhães is from 1709, when a woman from Bisalhães and a potter from Gondar were married
