In the long-haired 1970's men's barbers almost became extinct. Now that fashion has reverted to something similar to the (hideously unflattering) 1950's "Short up back and sides" style, which needs to be trimmed weekly, new barber shops are springing up like mushrooms, staffed by immigrant Turks and others. But when fashion again goes full cycle (which it always does) they'll just as quickly disappear.
