Milton Keynes is a strange place. The houses are barely visible as you approach it, hidden behind dense greenery. You would think you were miles from anywhere on this tree-lined arterial road, until you suddenly hit the town centre and find yourself in the dreariest urban complex imaginable - a stark example of socialist planning.
