ugliest library in England?
Canada Water's monumentally ugly Library-cum-Station is described as "a kind of social and cultural Noah’s Ark, exuberantly free from the strictures of architectural good taste". According to Richard Reid, "it helps establish a convivial character in the surrounding streetscape". But in truth it makes me feel quite miserable.
The architects apparently see it as "the crown jewel to the new plaza", which does make me wonder whether a second category of ADD should be included in the next DSM; namely Architectural Delusion Disorder.
