This building is part of St Bartholomew's Hospital.
It is known as Bartlemas House.
It was built in 1649 by Oriel College, Oxford.
The hospital itself was founded in 1129.
It was meant to provide for a chaplain and twelve leprous brethren (lepers).
The earlier buildings were destroyed during the Siege of Oxford in 1645.
This siege was during the Civil War. It was led by Cromwell and his New Model Army.
