This photo was taken in 1965 by the U.S. Navy photographer on the UNITAS VI cruise, during which the United States participated in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) exercises with various South American navies. I was part of a two-man public information team for this cruise. I distributed this photo to US and foreign media. The ship in the foreground is the USS Norfolk (DL-1), on which I was stationed. The tanker in the background to the left belongs to the Chilean Navy and it's refueling a U.S. Navy Destroyer Escort.
