Yearbook Photo

Konica Autoreflex TC

This is a set of images taken with the Konica Autoreflex TC that belonged to my high school's yearbook staff, and which I used during my junior and senior years. This would have been around 1978.

Easter Eggs

Just a partially-exposed half of a frame image on an old roll of Easter pictures I found, scanned and tinkered with just for fun.

Family Portrait Easter 1978

12 Jan 2014 347
This was one of the few portraits my family ever had with just the five of us together, because my little brother came along so much later than my sister and I. This one frame I shot in Easter - March 26th, 1978.

Chopped

30 Apr 2014 1 1 403
A Ford Model A 1/24th scale model kit I customized by chopping the top and adding a huge engine with a blower and 3 dual Stromberg carburetors. Okay, so maybe the blower and manifold/carburetor setup doesn't really work, but hey, I was a young kid at the time! Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Kodacolor 100 Date: 1978 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica TC Models 21if

Weeds

Just some ordinary weeds in the back yard. They have their own innate sense of beauty. Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Safety Film 5025 - Vericolor II 160 Date: May 1978 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica Springfield-2 KSF 5025 20hf

Ex-Convict

10 Sep 2019 1 2 276
This was our then-Governor of the State of Illinois, Jim Thompson. He ended up being sentenced to the federal penitentiary for racketeering, misusing state resources for political gain and fraud. That's all Chicago politics produces - criminals. We here at the other end of the state have to put up with all the crooked politicians that come out of the "Chicago Machine." Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Safety Film 5025 - Vericolor II 160 Date: April 26th, 1978 Location: Springfield, Illinois, U.S.A. Abraham Lincoln's Kitchen

01 Feb 2024 1 26
Abrahm Lincoln ate food prepared in this kitchen. Who knows, maybe he even cooked things himself there. Holiday Inn

04 Feb 2022 84
Remember when these distinctive and iconic Holiday Inn signs were everywhere? A welcome sight to a weary traveller. I know my family stayed at Holiday Inns a lot whenever we were travelling. I remember their slogan at the time was, "Your Host from Coast to Coast." We even stayed at this one. Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Konica Hexanon 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Kodacolor, 100 ASA 35mm Date: June 1978 Location: Muddy, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica 5035 Laurie 16ff

Bundy Trumpet

10 Oct 2019 292
This was my second trumpet, one I got while still in high school. It was silver instead of the usual brass and I'm almost certain it was made by Bundy. I ended up trading it in for an electric guitar four years after I graduated, a move I've regretted since. I missed having a trumpet so much that I picked up another one about 20 years ago. If you look closely, you can see that it has a clear, plastic mouthpiece. You don't see those every day! Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Kodacolor 100 Date: July 1978 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica KSF 5035 July 1978 12ff
