Svema FN64

I've always loved shooting with slow film and this Svema 64 promises to be just what I want. The company used to be called Astrum, but apparently, they adopted the defunct Russian film company's name.

My favorite speed for black and white film has always been 100 ASA/ISO. This Svema film is made by the same company that, up until recently, was known as "Astrum." Since I had only tried their 200 speed black and white film before, and liked it a lot, I had to try their 100 speed as well. I'll bet it will work as good as their other film I've tried.

I've tried some of the 200 speed, and bought some of the 64 and 100 speed, so I thought I might as well get some of the 400 speed to try that out as well.
Svema Black and White Film

|
The lastest batch of black and white film I bought. It used to be called Astrum, but the company seems to have changed their name to Svema.

Svema is an old Russian film, not made anymore. What I have expired sometime in 1993.

A spool of 16mm film taken with a 16mm camera. The film is some old Russian Svema film that expired in 1982. I’ve shot with it, but it’s degraded too much and the results were very splotchy. I cut down some 35mm film to use in this camera, of which only about 28,000 of them were made. This shot was taken at the camera's closest focussing range of 13 inches.
Taken with my sixtieth camera.

Tasma FN 125

I've seen Tasma described as a Russian film, and I don't think it's being made anymore. The rolls I have expired in 2004.

A new film emulsion put out by a company who bought the rights to use the Yashica name.

This is another relatively new black and white film emulsion. I've tried it and I think it looks pretty good.
Samsung Prime Color 400 Film
|
|
I wasn't aware that Samsung made film until I came across this. I knew they made televisions and cameras and other electronic devices, but film? Who knew?
I thought it was appropriate that the first roll of Samsung film I shot should be shot through a Samsung camera.
Mitsubishi MX-III 100
|
|
I'll bet most people thought Mitsubishi only made cars. Evidently, they had their own brand of film as well. I think when I looked this film up, it was actually made by Konica and is their VX-100 formula.

I knew Mitsubishi made automobiles, but I didn't know they had their own brand of film. I haven't shot any yet, but looking forward to it. I think when I looked this film up, it was actually made by Konica and is their VX-100 formula.
Agfa Photo Vista Plus 400
|
|
I've used Agfa Photo Vista Plus 400 before and then a few years ago I heard it was no longer going to be offered, so I ordered a brick of it. (10 rolls.) It is actually made by Fuji Film and is the same as their Superia X-TRA 400, I've seen reported.

Super G 400

This is part of a lot of Super G 400 film I bought a couple years ago. It's actually rebranded Konica VX400.
Winn Dixie Film

|
Winn Dixie is a chain of supermarkets located in the Southern United States. This was their store brand of film.
Winn Dixie Color Print Film 400
|
|
Winn Dixie is the name of a chain of supermarkets down in the South United States. In addition to the 400 speed version of their film, I also have some 200 speed. It says that it's made in Italy, so most likely this is Ferrania Solaris film.
