Sears TLS Mk II
Pictures in this set were taken by a recently-acquired Sears TLS, Mk II camera, made in 1967. It is a solid piece of equipment and still performs admirably. I love being able to carry it around and use it in public.

This is the bridge that connects Old Shawneetown, Illinois to rural Union County, Kentucky in crossing the Ohio River. It was opened in 1955 and was featured in the 1998 motion picture "U.S. Marshals."

The Second Bank In Illinois

This Greek Revival building is the second-ever bank in Illinois, about two blocks down from the first one. The bank refused to buy the first bonds issued by the city of Chicago on the grounds that no city located that far from a navigable river could survive.

The First Bank In Illinois

This is the John Marshall Bank, the first bank chartered in Illinois, in 1816. (Illinois didn't become a state until 1818 - 200 years ago - we're celebrating our bi-centennial.) The bank was opened in 1817 and the first president of the bank was John Marshall. The lone standing chimney at the left belonged to the home of John Marshall.
