This is Kassidee at the children's sculpture behind the Magic House, a Children's Museum located in St. Louis, Missouri. One figure in the statue was purposefully left out so children could pose with it. For the One Rokkor Around The World project. This statue of Abraham Lincoln sits outside the historic courthouse located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. For the One Rokkor Around The World project. This statue has represented tires for a long time and I've always wanted to stop by and capture her. And before you ask, yes, she is fully clothed under her skirt. Despite what the name says on his apron, this is really Big John. He's a big, 3-story tall metal statue that started out as the mascot in front of the Big John chain of grocery stores. He stood in front of the one in Carmi for decades before the company sold out the chain and it was done away with. This new grocery store brought Big John out of retirement, gave him some fresh paint and named him the "Little Giant." But, for those of us who have lived here in Southern Illinois most of our lives, he will always be remembered as "Big John." This was my attempt at trying to catch a meteor duing the Perseid meteor shower of 2013. I didn't get any meteors passing by in this frame, but two airplanes happened to go by right through the middle of my frame. It was clear when I started, then clouds began to roll in. That's why there are gaps toward the end of the star streaks - clouds obliterated part of them during the exposure. Another old Minolta I picked up off eBay. It arrived on Friday, September 3rd, 2016 and I shot a roll of Kodak Portra 160 in it on Saturday. This picture of it was taken at the Denny's in Carbondale, Illinois.
