Yashica-44a TLR

Yashica-44a TLR
I'm so excited because I just won an auction on eBay for a really good Yashica-44a twin lens reflex. What's good about this particular camera, is that it takes 127 film. So, the resulting negatives should be pretty good. I've read that these particular cameras take really sharp pictures. The image above is from the camera manual.

I was talking to my sister the other day and telling her I wished that I had a better 127 camera than the ones I have. Basically, they're all cheap plastic or bakelite cameras with cheap plastic lenses. A 127 negative is pretty good sized, so if a person had a good camera, the negatives should turn out sharp as a tack. I went browsing through some of my links for places that sell 127 film and on one of them, they pictured a TLR camera very much like this one. That got me to looking for one and I found this Yashica.

The 120 back takes 120, or 220 film. I also have a 35mm film back for the Graflex Crown Graphic camera and it uses bulk roll 35mm film. Those backs just replace the single 4x5 film backs. I can shoot all three in the same session by just changing backs.

Most of the professional grade medium format, and large format cameras will do that. I also have a Polaroid back for it, but there's not any film available for that one.
