Odd root system on these trees Guido, perhaps there has been some erosion of the bank at some time in the past exposing the root. I must say the camera phone produces some excellent images.

Thanks, the smartphone camera is not that bad, but if you look at details and compare with cameras with mich larger image sensors it is still a huge difference. But I do not always want to carry a heavy camera around with me. I should use the RAW format more often when I take pictures with my smartphone. This picture was taken with the built in camera software. I have post-processed it afterwards with Lightroom. But if the built-in denoising algorithms smooth away details, this can't be fixed with post-processing.
