Yes it is. QR previously used an ex Brisbane suburban stainless steel set for this service but apparently they deteriorated too much to be maintained. These cars appeared at Toowoomba station, with no indication of any passengers, about a month before the festival a couple of years ago looking very smart and smelling of new paint. There were indications of other recent maintenance to the frames and running gear too. I expect they will be around for a while.
